Shaping My City’s Future

The speed at which progress in the technology sector is going is no surprise to anyone as the world is moving towards a more innovative 4th Industrial Revolution. In the autumn of 2017, the World Economic Forum asked young people around the world: What would it take to build cities of the future in which everyone – regardless of gender, race, income, age or ability – can live and thrive?

The City of Vilnius also participated in looking for the answers as we together with Vilnius City Municipality and business representatives, evaluated Vilnius preparedness to counter the emerging technological changes.Vilnius has earned thumbs up for local innovation in ecosystem development as well as smart regulation. And although Vilnius still has where to improve, especially in public-private partnerships and in building a long-term innovation strategy, the city is moving in the right direction.

The evaluation also took a second step at the early days of 2019 and soon works on evaluating other cities will start, creating a truly unique map of innovative Lithuania!
